The Patiala cousins who made it big at the IPL auction

Indian Premier League aka IPL is the most celebrated cricket festival not only in India but all over the world. Recently the Ipl auction was concluded on 18 December in Jaipur. The auction this time wasnt't that big as it is every year. There were 1003 players who fought for 70 spots in the season which will be held around March-April next year. IPL is known as the cash-rich league all over the world. Many have gone from rags to riches by participating in it. This year too wasn't new.

Many young players grabbed deals(contracts) in crores while the old horses being rejected or can say they went for fewer price deals. Players like Jaydev Unadkat this year too grabbed a good deal from the franchise. Apart from him, there were two players who were in the limelight this auction. They were-

They both are cousins. Actually, the lead to the story of these cousins is very interesting. They both would have been successful handball players had their elders in the family decided to be. The reason is that their father, Satvinder Singh is himself a handball player who played at the national level. But fate had written something else for them.

"There were a couple of handball goalposts in our backyard, but they have long been replaced by cricket nets," Satvinder told TOI on Wednesday. "I never liked cricket as a sport. But destiny has something else in store. What can I say? We are a very proud family. Ab to teesra (Tejpreet Singh) bhi cricket mein achha kar raha hai (Now the third one too is doing well in cricket)," he added. Tejpreet, 17, is a leg-spinner and plays for Punjab U-19.

Prabhsimran was picked by Kings XI Punjab for 4.8 cr while Anmolpreet was picked for 80 lakhs by Mumbai Indians. Well, we wish the two rising superstars in Indian Cricket good luck. Like they have been showered by the money, they gift their respective franchise with a Trophy in the upcoming season of IPL which is to be scheduled in March.
